Digital River Named to 2000 Interactive Week Interactive 500 and VARBusiness E 100 + 25 Lists

MINNEAPOLIS, November 21, 2000Digital River, Inc. (NASDAQ: DRIV), the world's largest Commerce Service Provider (CSP), today announced it was recognized and included by Interactive Week and VARBusiness in two leading industry listings. Digital River was ranked number 97 on Interactive Week's annual Interactive 500, which ranks companies by the amount of revenue they generate from Web operations. The company also was included on VARBusiness' E 100 + 25 list, which consists of the 125 biggest North American Solution Providers focused on e-business.

"Being included on these two lists is another indicator of Digital River's continued growth and success in serving the e-commerce marketplace," said Perry Steiner, Digital River's president. "At Digital River, we are focused on our clients' profitability-that is on helping our clients accomplish their online revenue objectives. When our clients are successful, we are successful. This strategy along with our world class technology and e-services has served us well and continues to win us industry recognition."

"Companies listed on the VARBusiness E 100 + 25 have made a profound impact on the entire technology industry and the overall economy due to the strategic decisions they make, the technologies they select, and the recommendations they make for their customers," said Michael Uliss, publisher VARBusiness. "They are the architects of the new economy."

Interactive Week's editor John McCormick, who spearheaded the Interactive 500 project, notes that while the final results of the ranking reflect dynamic growth in the new online economy, much of the growth is being driven by the increasing presence of already established, old economy brick-and-mortars. "No longer are dot-coms with big plans, and even bigger losses, driving the market. Now it's the more traditional firms - the established retailers, manufactures and services firms - fueling the engines of the Internet business machine," said McCormick.
