Kaspersky™ Anti-Virus for Microsoft Windows 2000/NT Server
Kaspersky™ Anti-Virus for Windows NT/2000 Server provides comprehensive anti-virus protection for file and application servers running Windows NT/2000 Server operating system. The program reliably controls all file operations performed on the company servers. If detected a virus attack, the program is able to effectively and quickly repel it and eliminate any unwanted consequences.
Comprehensive anti-virus check
The software package includes a full set of anti-virus tools: an anti-virus scanner (Scanner) and an anti-virus monitor (Monitor). Scanner protects from viruses in data storage locations and may be started on demand as well as on schedule. Monitor checks all used files in real-time and also allows checking-in the memory of running programs. The program allows virus detection and removal from files packed by PKLITE, LZEXE, DIET, COM2EXE and other compressing utilities, and also scanning for viruses in archived files of all the most commonly used formats (ZIP, ARJ, LHA, RAR and others).
Kaspersky™ Anti-Virus Scanner and KasperskyTM Anti-Virus Monitor check for viruses not only on the local but also on the network disks.
Kaspersky™ Anti-Virus Scanner also allows for detection and deletion of viruses in the MS Outlook Express mail databases.
Protecting from script-viruses
The software package built-in Kaspersky™ Anti-Virus Script Checker, which operation is based on the heuristic analysis, protects a computer from penetrating script-viruses and worms that are executed directly in the computer’s RAM.
Isolating malicious objects
Kaspersky™ Anti-Virus for Windows NT/2000 Servers supports the function isolating (quarantine function) infected and suspicious objects. Just specify the quarantine directory, and the program will move all potentially harmful objects there for further study by a network administrator.
Regular updating
Kaspersky™ Anti-Virus Updater module allows for automated updating via the Internet of anti-virus databases that are used by Kaspersky™ Anti-Virus Scanner and Kaspersky™ Anti-Virus Monitor when these search for viruses. Updater also allows upgrading of the software package components. To do this, a user does not need to define any extra settings except for checking the appropriate check box.
Centralized deployment and management
The product is completely integrated in the unique system of anti-virus protection management - Kaspersky™ Administration Kit - that was originally developed in Kaspersky Lab. Kaspersky™ Anti-Virus Control Center (client subsystem) and Network Control Center (network subsystem) enable a system administrator to:
- centrally install and control the software package components from any computer
- define a timetable and an order in which the modules must be started
- automatically retrieve and install anti-virus database updates via the Internet
- broadcast notifications of virus attacks
- review virus-check logs
