TechSmith, Makers of Snagit and Camtasia, Expands Global Commerce Relationship with Digital River

MINNEAPOLIS — July 25, 2013 — Digital River, Inc. (NASDAQ: DRIV) announced the expansion of global commerce support for TechSmith, publishers of Snagit and the Camtasia line of video recording and editing software. Digital River, which already manages TechSmith’s European and Japanese commerce operations, was selected to take over TechSmith’s North American commerce operations from an in-house solution.

In North America, TechSmith will migrate to Digital River’s cloud-based, multi-tenant SaaS commerce solution to accelerate time-to-market and bolster the software developer’s online channel. In Europe and Japan, TechSmith is already taking advantage of Digital River’s global commerce system and on-the-ground experts from local offices for critical language support as well as the ability to transact using local currencies and payment methods. Further, Digital River’s in-house digital marketing agency will advance the publisher’s email and affiliate marketing efforts worldwide.

“We want to provide an online purchase experience for our customers that is easy and intuitive,” said Kate Cansfield, director of global web properties and ecommerce at TechSmith. “With Digital River’s global commerce and e-marketing solutions powering our European, Japanese and North American online stores, we can extend that user-friendly philosophy to the online purchase experience we create for our customers around the world.”

TechSmith’s software makes it easy to create compelling, polished content that can be shared easily. The software enables screen captures, computer screen recordings, content management and sharing for impactful visual communications. The company’s popular suite of products includes Snagit, Camtasia Studio, Camtasia for Mac, Camtasia Relay, and Morae, among others.

“Digital River has built its business by providing the global solutions and local expertise that companies need to build, manage and grow their online businesses,” said John Strosahl, executive vice president for Digital River. “We are excited about expanding our domestic and international relationship with TechSmith, and helping them drive added efficiencies outside of an in-house solution. We will put our commerce services and interactive marketing agency to work delivering more value for their customers and more sales across their global online channel.”
