DIGITAL RIVER SIGNS DEAL WITH
LAPLINK DEVELOPERS, TRAVELING SOFTWARE
Mobile Professionals Benefit from Easy Download and Installation
of LapLink and Other PC Products from Traveling Software's Online Store
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn., July 13, 1999 -- Digital River (Nasdaq: DRIV), the worldwide leader in electronic software delivery (ESD), today announced it has signed an online delivery agreement with Traveling Software, developers of the LapLink line of file transfer and remote control software products.
Digital River currently distributes Traveling Software's products through its online retail channel. In addition, Digital River will now host Traveling Software's online store and supply marketing and promotional services as well as provide services such as online reporting, 24 x 7 customer service, and both electronic and physical product fulfillment.
"There is a growing audience of business travelers and telecommuters who need to access their home or office computers from their laptops," said Joel Ronning, CEO of Digital River. "Because they are on the road so often, having a product like LapLink made available for quick and easy download through the Web is exactly the kind of convenience this audience is looking for. This agreement is indicative of Traveling Software's aggressive growth plans for its Internet business. Traveling Software is leveraging the power of its LapLink brand, its existing customer base and new Internet customers, its world-renowned association with file transfer and remote control, and is increasing its product focus with innovative Internet capabilities.
