JUST A COMMENT

Hello, My name is Bob McCabe and I recently bought your software and I have to tell you this program is cool!! I really didnt believe that it would speed things up that much and even after a freind told me about it I wasnt convenced, but now I am, When I send files through ICQ it seems to double the upload speed, when I browse the web it seems to at least cut the load time in half if not more. Good work guys!!!!! Im surprized you dont charge more than $20 for it! :) Thankyou!

I downloaded Speedlane3 and in conjunction with Windows 98, my browser is running faster and smoother. Thanks for an application that really works to speed things along.

It WORKS!  From: Steve <4everliving@cheerful.com>  Tue, 07 Apr 1998

OK, I was sceptical...it just sits there, no wizzo icons on the tool bar to say it's doing something, but everything is just so much quicker.
To use an Aussie phrase: ITS A BLOODY BEAUTY!
Well done!

Very Satisfied   From:n300zx@erols.com  Mon, 23 Feb 1998

Hi,
I just purchased Speedland a couple days ago and I've set it up as instructed. It has definately improved my connection to the internet and I'm telling all my friends about it. They are sceptical but I told them if it doesn't work I'll buy them dinner and its a
sure bet for me.
I don't know how your application works but its fantastic, especially since I'm a frequent user of the net and play on the net very often. 99% of the time I am the best connection on the net and people always think I have cable modem or T-1. When I
tell them its only an application, they always ask for the homepage and I give it to them.
Keep up the great work.
Yours truely,
Pang Yang

Great Product   From: stland@inetnow.net 2/24/98

Great product. I had a marked increase in speed and an end to hang-ups in the middle of downloading. I have an ISDN external modem that was forever stopping just at the end of a homepage download. No more.

linking   From: g__mike@yahoo.com Sat, 7 Mar 1998

I like to add a link to speedlane, been using your product for just about a week and it was worth the approximately $20.00 it costs. I like to tell others about your product by adding a link to your site which url should i link to.

Hi, can you please send me your free newsletter. I have downloaded a copy of your internet optimizer and have found it works very well but some pointers would be very helpful .

Thank you

Speedlane is based on the research by many Internet professionals into the inner workings of the Windows95 system. Speedlane has integrated this research into an easy to use, yet immensely powerful program.

Here are excerpts of some articles and usegroup postings that describe this research as well as actual results of Speedlane tests that show that page load times are 41-62% longer when not using Speedlane. We will continually extend this page with new information. Note that several of the experts have observed significantly higher speed gains than our own tests show. This has to do with their particular computer setup, ISP and server. Your results may vary, but will probably be comparable to the situations described below.

Double your Net download speed with MaxMTU

July 21, 1997  Infoworld (www.infoworld.com)

Windows 95 suffers from default settings that can severely hinder your Internet download speeds, according to Internet users who have experimented with their configurations. But if you know the secret, it's easy to change those default settings. Scores of Windows 95 users have reported 50-percent cuts in the time spent waiting for downloads from some Internet sites. Speed Tips Update: My Personal Benchmarks

Mike Chambers

Date posted on usenet: 1998/01/23

Hi All, I have been following the Speed Tips Update thread rather closely over the past week.
...
I ran a few tests here are my findings: I got the best results by increasing the settings for the maxconnect setting and maxsockets values in the Registry  (...)

a.. maxconnect: changed default from no value to 15 and min from 1 = to 12
b.. maxsockets: changed default from no value to 25 and min from 2 = to 25
c.. MAXMTU of 1500

I have a 28.8 USR Sportster modem, Pentium 120 with 32MB of memory and a good ISP. I ran the tests over a period of 4 days during the evening hours. Before each test, I emptied the Temporary Internet Files folder. The tests consisted of:

a.. loading up a small web page - 25K
b.. loading up a medium web page - 150K
c.. sending e-mail with an attached file -100K

And here are the overall results:

a.. loading the small web page went from 8 to 6-7 seconds (best was = 6 seconds)
b.. loading the medium web page went from 54 to 43 seconds (best was = 41 seconds)
c.. receiving mail from 35 to 31 seconds (best was 30 seconds)

I also had System Monitor running in the background. After the changes, I noticed a pattern. I would first receive around 4,000-4,800 bytes per second, then down to 2,800-3,500 bytes, then back up, etc. I also periodically got spikes of up to 8,000 bytes. All in all, I am quite pleased with the settings.

Modem Setting Change Can Increase Internet Speed

James D. Milton

Date posted on usenet: 1997/11/22

(..)I have found the following settings to give the best results for me. Of course as always YMMV.

MTU = 576
MSS = MTU-40 = 536
RWIN = 2144
Baud = 115200
The value for RWIN should be an integer multiple of MSS. Since I have a relatively slow 486 system, I have used a factor of 4. Faster systems could possibly use up to a factor of 8-10 w/o getting excessive COMM Overruns.
