Corel® Professional Photo CDs Support Page How do I install my Corel® Professional Photo CD? Start by placing your CD in your CD-ROM drive. If youre running Windows® 3.x, go to FILE then to RUN and type in the letter of your CD-ROM, followed by ":\SETUP", i.e. D:\SETUP.EXE. If youre running Windows® 95, go to the START button, then to RUN. Type in the letter of your CD-ROM, followed by ":\SETUP" then hit the ENTER key, i.e. D:\SETUP.EXE. After "Initializing the setup" has completed you will see a screen showing which modules will be installed. Click CONTINUE. The next screen is the "Corel Professional Photo Custom Setup". On this screen you will be able to set the location for installation, as well as the Installation Options. They include: Corel PHOTO CD LAB, Corel Professional Photo CD, Corel MOSIAC CD Audio, Artview Screen Saver and Wallpaper Flipper. Some Corel Professional Photo CDs include a working model of CorelDRAW™, demos or a Product QuickTour. Once you have selected the desired options, click Install. What formats can I convert the Images to and how do I do this? The Corel Professional Photo CD images contained on the CD are in .PCD format. Using PHOTO CD Lab, you can convert .PCD images to .BMP, .EPS, .PCX, and TIFF formats. For example, you can convert a Corel Professional Photo CD image to a bitmap format (.BMP) and then use the bitmap within an application that supports .BMP files, including the Corel Wallpaper Flipper. You can convert more than one image at once, as long as you apply the same conversion options to all the images. Note: If youve installed an application that adds newer versions of the Kodak Corel Professional Photo CD export dynamic link libraries (.DLLs) to your system, you may have problems converting images. If problems occur, try copying all the *.DLL files from the Professional Corel Professional Photo CD disc (\UTILS\PHOTOCD\DLLS) to the directory where Corel PHOTO CD LAB (PCDLAB) is located, which by default is in the CORELCD directory (\CORELCD\PCDLAB). This transference of files can be performed using File Manager or Windows Explorer. To convert one or more image to another graphics format:
Why does the following error message appear when I attempt to install my Corel Professional Corel® Professional Photo CD: "Bad arg 1:does file exist? Corelmos.exe ,3 Setup failed." This error message will result under the following circumstances:
Note: If you have Corel VENTURA™ but not CorelDRAW installed, remark out the DIR=C:\COREL40\CONFIG line with a ";" (semi-colon). Place the semi-colon before the line as shown in the example below: ; DIR=C:\COREL40\CONFIG Then perform a Custom Install on the Corel Professional Photo CD. Deselect the Corel MOSAIC so that it does not install. That will stop it from adding the DIR line back into the [CorelGraphics4] section. Then, after the software installs, simply take the ";" (semi-colon) out from in front of the DIR= line and all should be well with both Corel VENTURA and the Corel Professional Photo CD. Why do the Corel® Professional Photo CD images appear to have lines in them or to be of poor quality? If there appears to be lines or a strange tint to the images when viewed or when using the Artview program, try changing your display to VGA mode. VGA mode will display the picture at a lower resolution. However, if the tint or lines do not appear in VGA mode you should contact the manufacturer of your video card for an updated video driver. If the images appear to be of poor quality you should ensure that your display is at the highest setting possible for your video card. The maximum display resolution are specific to the video card and this information can be obtained from the video card manufacturer. |
