In the competitive market of high-end electronics, speed-to-market is imperative and a best-in-class commerce experience is essential. HTC faced the challenge of finding a partner to help launch its highly anticipated RE Camera online in just a few short months. Ed Kuhner, VP of Customer Experience, HTC Americas, considered building a commerce solution in-house. However the cost and time to develop the back-office components proved to be too significant an investment in time and capital for the short window needed to launch.

Of all the outside partners HTC considered, Digital River was the only one able to provide a solution that included fraud management, tax collection and filing, Merchant of Record capabilities, and payment processing from a single point of contact.

In just six weeks, Digital River worked closely with HTC and successfully delivered a fully integrated, direct-to-cart, HTC branded ecommerce store. In addition to providing ongoing guidance around marketing promotions and performance insights, Digital River monitors and blocks fraudulent payment activity before processing orders, collects and remits sales tax, and ensures compliance with global commerce laws.
