Digital River to Exhibit and Speak at Internet Retailer Conference & Exhibition 2013

CMO to present about marketing strategies for going global and local

MINNEAPOLIS — May 20, 2013 — Digital River, Inc. (NASDAQ: DRIV), the revenue growth experts in global cloud commerce, will speak and exhibit at the Internet Retailer Conference & Exhibition (IRCE) 2013. During the event, which takes place June 4-7 in Chicago, Digital River’s team will showcase its global commerce, marketing and payments solutions in booth 530. Also, conference attendees can hear Digital River’s chief marketing officer, Scott Heimes, present during the executive track on June 5 at 4:15 p.m. CDT about marketing strategies that online merchants can use to successfully go global and local.

IRCE attendees visiting Digital River’s booth will be able to explore the different ways that commerce, marketing and payments solutions can help them break down barriers in today’s global marketplace. Today, nearly half of the sales that Digital River processes originate from markets outside of the United States. To pre-schedule a meeting in booth 530 with a Digital River team member, please email us.

The global theme will continue during Scott Heimes’ June 5th interactive session about e-commerce and e-marketing strategies. He will present real world champion/challenger scenarios — that pit one online store strategy against another — and then audience members can vote in real-time for the scenario that they believe resulted in the best online customer experience, and drove the biggest results. Attendees will walk away from this session with insight into some of the major issues associated with global sales as well as actionable approaches that can help ensure sites speak to local audiences upon launch.

“In 2013, market research indicates that global B2C e-commerce sales will grow to nearly $1.3 trillion. The most successful e-stores will be those ready to compete in the world market. But success means much more than simply translating an e-commerce site into a foreign language and accepting an international currency,” commented Scott Heimes, Digital River’s CMO. “This year at IRCE, we will be squarely focused on educating online merchants about the most crucial strategies they need to go global and do business in local markets around the world. We will draw from the deep experience we’ve acquired through nearly 20 years of managing the worldwide commerce, marketing and payments businesses for some of the most notable brands on the Internet — and pass our learnings on to IRCE attendees.”
