Digital River to Speak at SXSW Interactive Festival’s “Connected Living Rooms, Contentious Networks” Panel Discussion

MINNEAPOLIS — Mar. 9, 2012 — Digital River, Inc. (NASDAQ: DRIV), the revenue growth experts in global cloud commerce, announced Jeremy Coker, Digital River’s director of business development for games, will speak on the panel, “Connected Living Rooms, Contentious Networks” on Sunday, Mar. 11 at 5:00 p.m. CDT at South By Southwest’s (SXSW®) Interactive Festival in Austin, Tex. The panel will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn in the Sabine room.

Hosted by Sebastian Haley, reviews editor at VentureBeat’s GamesBeat, the panel discussion will focus on network contention, an issue that can take many forms—whether it’s a spinning hourglass, a “buffering” window or a stuttering video. During this panel session, leading experts on home networking and media distribution will reveal the sometimes surprising causes of streaming media hiccups in the home and the technologies that could make buffering delays a thing of the past.

“This panel will explore a wide range of perspectives on how companies are innovating and delivering solutions to address the network contention challenge,” said Coker. “Consumers expect a seamless, real-time content experience no matter the screen. I am looking forward to a great exchange among a highly respected group of industry thought leaders as to how we deliver and monetize content.”

Coker will be joined by panelists:

  • Jim Cady, president and CEO, Slacker Inc.;
  • Philip Kearney, director of engineering and product development, Network Business Unit, Qualcomm Atheros; and
  • Santi Pierini, vice president of product strategy, TodoCast.
