Recognized for its globalization capabilities, ability to handle global payments and complex subscriptions
MINNEAPOLIS — March 28, 2017 — Digital River, Inc., a leading global provider of Commerce-as-a-Service solutions, was among the select companies that Forrester Research, a leading global research and advisory firm, invited to participate in its report, The Forrester Waveâ„¢ B2C Commerce Suites, Q1 2017. In the evaluation, Digital River was named as one of the 13 B2C ecommerce providers that matter the most and was cited as a Strong Performer. The Forrester report is widely used as a resource by companies searching for a new ecommerce solution.
Forrester used 29 criteria to evaluate how each provider measures up and helps ebusiness and channel strategy professionals make the right choice when selecting a commerce provider. Digital River’s top scores were in the total cost of ownership, followed by solution architecture, company vision and product strategy and roadmap criteria. In the report, Forrester stated that, “Customers give high marks to Digital River for its SaaS-based architecture and core ecommerce capabilities, and the platform stands out for its globalization capabilities and ability to handle global payments and complex subscriptions.”
“Breaking down barriers to enter new geographies requires global vision and local expertise. The online brands we work with value our ability to solve this complicated and resource intensive process,” said Jason Nyhus, Digital River’s vice president of global marketing and communications. “We believe this Forrester report, which includes feedback from our clients, further validates that our deep globalization and subscriptions capabilities are a key strength and competitive differentiator for Digital River.”
The report states that “the B2C commerce suites market is growing because more ebusiness and channel strategy professionals see B2C commerce suites as a way to address their top challenges around driving digital commerce initiatives across touchpoints.” Forrester also noted that, “…branded manufacturers or high-tech firms, which are beginning to sell direct to consumers… are investing in sophisticated B2C commerce technology.”
In the report, Forrester commented that, “Digital River targets nonretail verticals with digital commerce needs, like branded manufacturers, software, telecom, and consumer product goods firms… Digital River is a good fit for B2C companies outside retail that are looking for a cloud-based commerce platform that offers broad subscription, payments, and global support.”
