Chief Financial Officer
Christopher (CJ) Bernander is Digital River’s chief financial officer, overseeing accounting, finance, treasury, tax and corporate development teams globally. With finance playing a significant role in the success of Digital River’s product and customer growth, CJ’s expertise helps accelerate Digital River’s expansion into new markets and geographies as the company enables ecommerce optimization in its partner ecosystems.
CJ joined Digital River in 2020, after working as vice president of finance at Renaissance Learning, a global leader in SaaS-based education technology and analytics. CJ’s previous work also includes nearly ten years at Digital River in various leadership roles, including accounting, finance and corporate development functions. CJ has been an active CPA for more than fifteen years and holds a B.B.A. in accounting from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Chief Executive Officer
Adam Coyle has spent over 25 years in the financial technology industry in a wide range of executive roles. Adam joined Digital River as CEO after spending three years as Digital River boardmember and executive partner at Siris Capital. Before joining Siris he was executive vice president of strategy and corporate development for Vantiv (now FIS WorldPay), a role he assumed after serving as the president of one of Vantiv’s major subsidiaries, National Processing Company.
Adam’s prior experience also includes time spent as an operating partner at Advent International, a leading global private equity firm, and a variety of senior leadership roles at First Data Corporation. He is a current or former director of numerous companies, including Transaction Network Services, Intralinks, FirstBank, Paymentech, NYCE and First Financial Bank.
Chief Operations Officer
As Digital River’s chief operations officer, Ryan Douglas leads the company’s operations and information technology (IT) organizations. Functional areas include customer, technical and business operations, information security, data and cloud engineering, and corporate systems teams. Ryan is responsible for transforming Digital River’s operational support for customers and partners, maintaining service excellence, and advancing the company’s information technology strategy.
Ryan joined Digital River in 2005 and has held numerous leadership positions in software engineering, information technology, and operations. Prior to Digital River, he served at several technical service startup companies focused in the legal discovery, content management, and content delivery space. In all, Ryan has over 25 years of experience in technology and operational leadership.
Senior Vice President, Customer Success and Partner Enablement
Jason Hofmann has built his career on finding creative solutions to help enterprise businesses grow revenue. Starting at Digital River in 2010, Jason took on the responsibility for building a global team to grow Digital River’s largest enterprise customer. A complex endeavor that helped shape the way Digital River approaches customer success across teams. As senior vice president of customer success and partner enablement, he is responsible for operations, customer service and partnering with Digital River clients to build fast-paced, global ecommerce businesses.
Jason brings more than 20 years of experience focusing on driving global online commerce across B2B and B2C channels. Prior to joining Digital River, he served in revenue-driving commerce roles at companies ranging from Microsoft to a boutique consultancy focused on extending brands into new markets.
Senior Vice President of Sales and Partnerships
Jason Nyhus started at Digital River in 2000 holding virtually every role in sales and marketing. He has owned relationships with some of the company’s most dynamic and fast paced clients like MLB.com, Canon, Microsoft and EA.
A master at finding dynamic ways to help companies grow their revenue, Jason is responsible for Digital River’s go-to-market programs, including demand generation, strategic partnerships and net new sales. He takes pride in helping clients outpace industry growth by driving innovation and accelerating their global ecommerce sales.
Senior Vice President, Product
Mike Penterman leads a global team of ecommerce technology professionals and is transforming our delivery organization from a direct delivery model to a partner support and enablement team. With more than 20 years of experience working in various technology roles, he has a wide depth of knowledge related to ecommerce, project management, organizational transformation, product delivery, and strategy formation and execution.
Prior to joining Digital River in 2003, Mike served in a leadership role at TouchNet Information Systems, an ecommerce company focused on the higher education market. He also has worked as a consultant for Data Systems International and was part of the leadership team that launched technology startup, eScreen. Throughout his career, Mike has worked with some of the largest companies in the world including Microsoft, Walmart, Samsung, Motorola, Adobe, and Verizon.
Chief Marketing Officer
Ted Rogers started at Digital River in 2017 and brings a unique perspective to the business, with past roles spanning from marketing to credit and fraud to operations. He served first as vice president and general manager of MyCommerce, then vice president of global expansion and fulfillment operations, and vice president of strategic marketing before being named chief marketing officer. His focus lies in communicating Digital River’s value and driving growth for customers and partners by taking a global, scalable and quantitative approach to marketing.
Ted has an extensive background in ecommerce and marketing management, serving as a marketing executive in the industry for over 20 years. Prior to joining Digital River, he held a variety of leadership roles at FICO and Bluestem Brands, Inc – Fingerhut and PayCheck Direct.
Chief Technology Officer
Oleg Ryaboy leads a global team of software engineers and developers tasked with delivering innovative ecommerce technology solutions. They build and support scalable, high-performing ecommerce technologies and features that power the global online businesses for Digital River’s world-class clients. Oleg is responsible for managing and advancing the company’s SaaS cloud ecommerce platforms, which operate on a massively distributed architecture.
Prior to joining Digital River in 2010, Oleg served as a leader in software development and IT research and development at CVS MinuteClinic, CVS Health, Target and several software startup companies. Oleg was recently honored as one of Minnesota’s 500 Most Powerful Business Executives by Greenspring Media for 2021.
Chief Administrative Officer
KT Schmidt is Digital River’s chief administrative officer. He directs all activities related to building the international workforce, overseeing facilities management, and compliance and risk management programs that drives Digital River’s success. This includes developing talent management and organizational enablement strategies that support the company’s growth initiatives, attracting and retaining some of the top experts in the ecommerce industry, and building a comprehensive risk management and compliance program to protect our company and our clients.
KT brings to Digital River more than 15 years of operational and organizational experience, working with Legal, Human Resources, Facilities and IT teams, and managing global Human Resources and corporate operating practices. This includes compensation and compliance programs, mergers and acquisitions, facilities and technology contract negotiations.
Prior to joining Digital River, KT served as general counsel and vice president of human resources and information security at International Decision Systems, a global market leader and B2B software provider in the financial services space. There, he had responsibility for building the Legal, Human Resources, Facilities and IT departments to drive efficiency; in addition to managing complex domestic and international business challenges.
Senior Vice President, Strategic Planning and Process Improvement
Kathy Tompt drives strategic planning and process improvment at Digital River, bringing more than 30 years of experience across financial, direct marketing and ecommerce industries. She is continuously called upon to leverage her wealth of knowledge and leadership in transforming organizations, delivering operational excellence, operationalizing corporate strategies and creating efficiencies. In her current role, Kathy drives strategic programs and initiatives across the enterprise.
Prior to joining Digital River in 2008, Kathy was a senior leader at Bluestem Brands as vice president of operations, managing all onshore and offshore sales and service operations, back office operations, and compliance organizations. Kathy held executive leadership roles with Metris Companies, CPP North America and U.S. Bank, where she managed and developed numerous operational, technical, service and sales areas in support of B2B and B2C markets.
